Growing up, it was hard for me to envision myself on a career path which would both resonate with me and satisfy my ambitions. No matter which path I explored, I couldn’t escape the deep desire I had to be one of the lucky few who manage to break free of the shackles of the 9 to 5. I wanted to be able to travel the world without a boss dictating what to do each day. I wanted to use the power of the internet to make money for myself, not sell my time in return for a paycheck. But I kept asking myself, how? It seemed so impossible.

 

Luckily, whilst studying for my Business degree at Northumbria University in the north of England, I was exposed to the world of forex trading. Seeing this as my opportunity to take control of my future, I began to invest as much of my time and money as I possibly could into studying the foreign exchange markets.

 

In the beginning, I was very, very unsuccessful. I paid for numerous retail trading courses and was hyper-focused on finding the ‘secret’ strategy which could guarantee immediate riches - and of course, I was quickly let down. Feeling down on my luck, it just felt like nothing was working for me.

 

It then dawned on me; if I want to make trading my ‘job’, then why not learn from those whose job is trading! With newfound motivation, I quickly left behind the retailer mindset of trading and investing and immersed myself in the institutional ways. I took it upon myself to learn from the most accomplished traders spearheading the largest hedge-funds and investment banks in the world.

 

You can imagine my delight as the months of hard work I’d been putting in studying the institutional side of trading began to show itself in my returns! I was finally able to obtain consistency in my trades. Of course, not every trade I took was a winner, but I had learnt the invaluable skill of how to capitalise on the successes and cut the losses. This consistency enabled me to grow my measly account into a rather sizeable, and most importantly, profitable one.

 

I have since gone on to develop my own forex and multi-asset trading system, consisting of the advanced institutional tools which helped me so much, alongside a number of my own tools which I have developed over the past 4 years.

 

I am now able to say that thanks to trading, I am able to satisfy the dreams of my younger self. I am living life on my own terms, spending just a few hours a week analysing the markets and traveling the world. I am happier than I have ever been. The only thing that can now make me happier, is to enable others to break-free as well and join me on this journey.

Having learnt the tried and tested ways of the institutions, it is now my turn to give back. I want to be able to inspire others and help them do what they want to do - what they really want to do! By sharing my advanced tools and systems, it is my goal that every single member of the FWA community is able to follow their dreams and passions and ultimately, achieve financial freedom.
